摘要:
测量了 MBBA 和三种氰基二联苯各向同性相丝状液晶的法拉第旋转.观测到费尔德常数随温度的微弱变化,而这种变化是同样品的体积膨胀相联系的.还讨论了在液晶中观测强磁场诱导的取向有序所引起的费尔德常数随磁场变化的可行性.
Abstract:
The Faraday rotation in the isotropic phase of MBBA and three cyanobiphenyl nematogens has been measured.A small variation of the Verdet constant with temperature that was associated with the volume expansion of the sample was observed.The feasibility of observing field-dependent effects on the Verdet constant in liquid crystal as a result of induced orientational ordering in very high magnetic field is discussed.
