Abstract:
By considering the factors such as the elongation of cables, the displacement and rotation angles caused by tower’s moments and axial forces, etc., the planar mechanical model of cable-stayed bridge is transformed into continuous beam, and detailed formulae of field transfer matrix and point matrix of the beam element are derived. According to the characteristics of cable-stayed bridge, the boundary conditional and compatible expressions can be obtained and calculation of cable-stayed bridge is carried out. This practical and convenient method can be applied to the calculation of static response of large-scale bridges in preparatory design.
