Abstract:
Based on queue-theory, a calculation model of bus-stop routes capacity is constructed, which reflects how the bus arriving characteristics influence the bus-stop travel efficiency and quantifies the relation of routes capacity and berths. These researches provide a theoretical basis for berth’s design and routes capacity design of bus-stop. Finally, a practice of bus-stop optimization is performed for some bus-stop in Nanjing. Although the factual bus flow was under the travel capacity, long queue was found in bus-stop frequently resulting in bus jam. It is mainly because of the bus uneven arriving, and it will be an efficient method to control the queue by designing the number of route and frequency of bus reasonably, which will decrease the delay of bus in bus-stop remarkably.
