摘要:
首先在合适的网络模型下从理论上对存储转发和预先注册2类平滑切换机制的性能进行了分析,主要计算了为达到零分组丢失缓存节点所需的缓存数以及切换时分组所遭受的额外时延; 在此基础上通过数值仿真的方法对两者的性能进行了详尽的比较,结果表明存储转发方法性能难以满足应用的需求,预先注册方法缺乏通用性; 最后针对现有平滑切换机制存在的上述性能和通用性问题,提出了一种基于预测的平滑切换机制,其性能接近于预先注册方法,而适用范围却与存储转发方法一样广泛.
Abstract:
The performance of two smooth handoff mechanisms namely buffering and forwarding method and advance registration method are analyzed theoretically under a suitable network model. The focuses lay on the needed buffers at buffering nodes to reach zero packet loss and the extra delay suffered by packets at handoff. On this basis the performance of the two mechanisms are compared through numerical simulation. Results show that the performance of buffering and forwarding method cannot satisfy some application requirements while advance registration method lacks enough generalization. Aiming at the above performance and generalization problems in existing smooth handoff mechanisms, a prediction-based mechanism is then proposed. Its performance is close to the advance registration method, and it can be applied to wider network environments.
